Traffic isn't the problem for most stores we audit — conversion is. Here are the seven issues that show up most often, and what to do about each one.
Every extra second of load time costs conversions, especially on mobile. Compress images to WebP, lazy-load anything below the fold, and remove unused apps that inject their own scripts.
Every additional field or page before payment is a chance for someone to abandon their cart. Enable express checkout (Shop Pay, Apple Pay) and cut optional fields down to the essentials.
Reviews and ratings work best when they're visible exactly where the decision is made — on the product page, next to the price, not buried in a separate tab.
If a customer has to search for your return policy, that's a reason to leave. State shipping times and return windows directly on the product page.
Low-resolution or inconsistent product images undercut trust immediately. Standardise your shot list — front, back, detail, in-use — for every SKU.
Low-stock indicators and limited-time offers, used honestly, give hesitant buyers a reason to act now rather than "coming back later."
If your paid traffic lands anywhere other than the exact product it promised, expect high bounce rates. Match landing pages to ad creative every time.
Most stores only need to fix two or three of these to see a meaningful lift in conversion rate. If you want a second pair of eyes on yours, our free store audit covers all seven.

Both platforms can power a serious e-commerce brand — the right choice depends on how hands-on you want to be with hosting, and how much you plan to customise.
Shopify is fully hosted, so security, uptime, and PCI compliance are handled for you. It's the faster route to a store that just works, with a huge app ecosystem for adding features without touching code.
WooCommerce runs on WordPress, giving you full control over hosting and code. That flexibility is powerful if you have development resource, but it also means you're responsible for hosting, security patches, and plugin conflicts.
For most UK e-commerce brands scaling with paid ads, we recommend Shopify: less time managing infrastructure means more time on marketing and product. WooCommerce makes sense if you already have a WordPress site with significant content or a developer on staff.
Either way, the platform matters less than what you build on it — clean UX, fast load times, and a checkout that gets out of the customer's way.

A dropping ROAS is rarely one single problem — it's usually a combination of ad fatigue, audience saturation, and tracking gaps. Here's how to diagnose which one is hitting you.
If frequency is climbing past 3–4 and CTR is falling week over week, your audience has simply seen the ad too many times. Refresh creative on a rolling schedule rather than waiting for performance to collapse.
Narrow audiences run out of new people to show ads to. Broaden targeting or layer in a lookalike audience before performance drops off a cliff.
iOS privacy changes mean a meaningful share of conversions go untracked. Make sure Conversions API is set up alongside the Pixel so Meta gets a fuller picture, even when browser-side tracking is blocked.
Once you've ruled these three out, the next lever is usually the offer itself — test a different hook, price point, or bundle before assuming the platform itself has stopped working for you.

It's easy to price low to win the sale and only notice months later that margin barely covers ad spend. Here's a simple way to price with profit built in from day one.
Add product cost, packaging, shipping, and payment processing fees together before you even think about margin — most underpricing comes from forgetting one of these.
If paid ads drive most of your traffic, your price needs to cover a realistic cost-per-acquisition, not just the product cost. Work backwards from your target ROAS to a minimum viable price.
Matching a competitor's price only makes sense if your offer is identical. If you offer faster shipping, better support, or a stronger guarantee, price for that difference.
Revisit pricing every quarter as costs shift — a price that was profitable six months ago may not be today.

Every client engagement follows the same four stages. It's not glamorous, but it's repeatable — which is exactly why it works.
We start by reviewing the store, pixel setup, and existing ad accounts to find the highest-leverage fixes before spending a pound on new traffic.
Checkout, tracking, and product pages get fixed first. Sending more traffic to a leaky funnel just wastes budget faster.
With a solid foundation in place, we run structured creative and audience tests to find what actually converts for this specific brand, rather than copying generic best practice.
Once we have winning combinations, we scale budget in controlled increments, watching CPA and ROAS closely so growth doesn't come at the cost of profitability.
This order matters — skipping straight to scale before fixing the foundation is the single most common mistake we see brands make on their own.

We install a similar core stack on almost every client store. Here's what's on it and why.
A review app that syncs photos and star ratings onto the product page directly, not hidden in a separate tab.
An image compression app that automatically converts uploads to WebP and strips unused code from your theme.
A post-purchase upsell app to lift average order value without adding friction before checkout.
Abandoned cart flows alone typically recover 5–10% of otherwise lost revenue — worth setting up before anything else on this list.
A dashboard that unifies store and ad platform data in one place, so you're not logging into four different tools to see how the day went.
Install one at a time and measure the impact — stacking too many apps at once makes it impossible to tell what's actually helping.
